And if in Your knowledge this matter is bad for my religion, my livelihood and the hereafter, the destiny and the decree then fend it off from Me and fend it off and ordain for me the good what so ever It be and let me be pleased with that.
This dua istikhara is then recited after two rak’ahs, followed by contemplation and reflection on the matter at hand.
